The 4th International Symposium on Mega Earthquake Induced Geo-disasters and Long Term Effects will be held in Chengdu, China during May 9 – 15, 2015.This symposium is in memory of all those victims in 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake, and also for providing an opportunity to present and exchange knowledge and experience on the occurrence of geo-hazards in areas struck by mega earthquakes and their long-term effects. Please find the first circular, response form and abstract format in the attached files.

Main Topics

The 2015 symposium will focus on both earth surface processes and geo-hazards in the mega earthquake areas, including:

1.       Impacts of mega earthquakes and their long term effects

2.      Advances in geo-hazard analysis, risk assessment and mapping

3.      The initiation and evolution mechanisms of geo-hazards

4.      The disaster-chain effects

5.      Evaluation and control of geohazards: mitigation, prevention and protection strategies.

6.      Geo-hazards and society: processes and impacts
