Federation of Geo-engineering Societies: A proposal by ISSMGE, ISRM and IAEG
The Presidents of the Sister Societies (International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, ISSMGE; International Society for Rock Mechanics, ISRM; International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment, IAEG) are proposing the formation of the Federation of International Geo-engineering Societies (FIGS). It is intended that the federation will supplement the common perception of ISSMGE, ISRM and IAEG as learned societies by engaging more closely with industry and public bodies and promoting to such bodies the activities of the Sister Societies and the geo-engineering profession in general.
Guidelines for Joint Technical Committees (JTCs)
This guideline supplements FIGS Clause 13. It defines the way Joint Technical Committees are appointed, how their terms of reference are fixed, how and where they shall meet and how they shall report.
